Mentoring the Perinatal Mental Health Professional

A SPACE FOR REFLECTION, GROWTH, AND MENTORSHIP

Are you a clinician working with Perinatal Mental Health clients? Are you ready to grow professionally in a supportive group setting?

Mentoring groups are facilitated by Bina Bird, LMFT-S, PMH-C and Felicia Hurst, LPC-S, PMH-C. Through our own experiences in learning and working with Perinatal Mental Health clinician we discovered the value in mentorship and clinical support when working with this population. We are excited to be able to offer these groups as a way to both support clinicians in their professional development and to also help more parents and families struggling with perinatal mental health issues. Bina and Felicia have both attended basic and advanced trainings through PSI, the Postpartum Stress Center, and are Certified in Perinatal Mental Health. We are trained and knowledgeable in serving families who may be dealing with the emotional and relational struggles that may accompany infertility, pregnancy or infant loss, perinatal mood and/or anxiety disorders, birth trauma, and more. We both serve the perinatal mental health population and provide training and consultation to other clinicians.

Mentoring groups are for mental health clinicians who are:

*actively working with the perinatal health population.

*seeking professional self-care and support.

*interested in case consultation for their perinatal mental health cases and growing as a professional.

*interested in connecting with other perinatal mental health clinicians.

*beginner-intermediate in training and experience with perinatal mental health.

*willing to engage in a space committed to anti-racism and inclusivity.

*willing to engage in and support others in self-reflective work around self of the therapist issues such as countertransference, biases, etc.

How do the Mentoring groups work?
